The Falls/Las Cataratas del Iguazú/Cataratas do Iguaçu

Basically this is like the Niagra falls or Victoria falls equivalent for South America, but better.  It is located where Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina meet.  I only visited the Brazilian and Argentine sides.  In the map Brazil is the left side of the river and Argentina the right.  Argentina provides an up close and personal view from on top and Brazil shows from the side and below.  Both are needed for the full experience.

Brazil

The journey began, as most do, in a bus sporting stylish plastic bags as we were assured they were a dollar cheaper if purchased from the street vendors rather than inside the park (true, but the park's had their logo)

To put this in perspective I am standing in front of the left most side.

The point furthest back is the "Devil's Throat" but we have to go to Argentina to see that better.

Both sides had these little animals begging and robbing food from the tourists.

 Argentina

A train took us to our starting point.

It was a long walk over the river to the falls.

There are no words to fully describe it's intensity.

Our guide / Nuestra Guía
My Mentor and her husband / Mi Mentora y su esposo
My trusty steed Muro (wall) / Mi fiel corcel se llama Muro
Mountain Peak / Cumbre de la montaña
 Don't Look Down! / ¡No Mire Abajo!

 Break!
We had a 2 hour rest stop and cooked out (some of the best steak I've ever had)
  Going back down/ Bajandose
Mountains' shadow / Sombra de las montañas
This was a great birthday trip to a place just a couple of hours outside of Santiago.  It took 5 to 6 hours to ride up and then back down, including the cookout.  A place called Cascadas de Las Animas.  I highly recommend it!
