A day with the horses

For a little birthday adventure, some friends and myself went horseback riding in a nearby village. This is my horse Ventura.

This was my view from on top

The dogs came along to scare away critters that might startle the horses.
The town had a convent name San Fransico.
There is also the spring of San Francis which is claimed to cure cataracts and help people find a significant other.
There are many springs which is why there was also a factory for making sodas and this laundry washing area.
Which is located across the bridge from the other springs
Look at it pouring out, people come here to get what for their homes.
The dogs decided to go for a swim.
Here's some of the nature we saw.
some prettier nature
Some people working... And I complained about having to drive tractor!

After hours of riding it was nice to walk the horses a bit. Mine however really wanted to eat and could careless about walking.

Typical day

There is nothing special about my day, but in case you are curious...

In the morning I am a tiny classroom from 9 to 1.

At 2:30 we meet with our language guides for one on one conversation until 4:30.
Sometimes we stay in the plaza and chat, because it is so beautiful

Other times we wonder through museums. There are a LOT of museums. So much history in this city.

Or walk around and look at the architecture.

There is so much detail.
Then at 4:30 I get back on the bus

and head home.
So it isn't glamorous, but it is filled with moments of deep struggle with the language and ability to speak, excitement over small language victories, laughs with other students, and moments of beauty or emptiness.

Today in Trees

Today I was walking from my bus stop to my destination and saw these two gentlemen carrying a... Yep! a Christmas tree. Apparently they were trying to beat the rush. Maybe I should look into this. The holiday season is only 10 months away.

The next block I passed this spring time beauty. There is no use for orange cones when you have a lovely potted plant to prevent people from parking.

I climbed a pyramid

This is in the museum. It depicts the different levels of building. The pyramids in this area have been covered with dirt and built upon.

This is the main courtyard of the pyramid. If you stand in the middle and clap the echo comes in the sound of a bird chirping. Extremely cool!
Here is the base. These are some of the students that also attend the Spanish Institute.
The pyramid was large enough to build this on top. Think cake topper.
Here is the view. The hill is yet another pyramid.

Puebla!

What I love most is the beautiful architecture.

This is one of the first theaters in America. It is celebrating its 250th birthday.

This is in the Barrio de Artista. This plaza is filled with oil paintings and art.

Here is a market selling some traditional items. And my language helper for the week. She is really good to speak slowly and take me to awesome places to practice.

They made tiles in Puebla and there are many buildings with tile mixed into the brick like this one.

I Passed! (Roughage lived!)

Before Picture 4 Months Ago

Picture taken today! See all the new leaves and how they've grown!

Capilano Bridge

They had Totem poles here too. Each tells a story, before I read about it. I thought this was a story of Pepto.

I will let them tell you, so you don't think I am lying

Oh... I am about to be on a cable bridge 230 ft in the air... I wasn't just going to skip across.
You can't see it swaying, but it was like walking on a swing.
View of the river half way.

Treetop adventure. Think Swiss Family Robinson.

I am as tall as a 13 year old Cedar.
And as big around as a... I wouldn't tell you if I knew
Only one way back.
