Trip to the South part of Chile

 Punta Arenas

Located along the Magellan Straits
What monument is complete without a chicken holding lady and goat petting boy
Or a city without an extravagant cemetery with a monument to the last indigenous

Interactive statues are the best kind

Quick selfie in front of the Magellan Straits
Outside of town cows, alpaca, and sheep rule.

The right time of year there are penguins!

The view as we drove to El Calafate, Argentina

 Some of the swamp land
 Ñandu (sheep in the background)

 La Pampa
 Strong wind caution road signs

Sheep ranches on the way

 Going to be sheared
 Sheared Sheep
 Mobile shepherd outpost

Glacier boat tour

Icebergs are chunks of ice that fall off the glaciers
Size compared to a double decker tour boat
The blue color comes from light infraction from the lake
Peek-a-boo with our sister tour boat

 A hanging glacier
The glaciers carve out a path as they travel
When chunks start to fall off it is called calving
A glacier that wasn't part of the tour

National Park - Parque Torres de Paine

The cuernos (horns) on the left and are black (basalt) and white (granite)
Paine - the middle mountain,
The torres (towers) are on the right

Clear water

Our hotel in the middle of the lake
 We saw an avalanche
There were tons of dandelions and this red flower
 Guanacos

Super friendly, big bird and some of his smaller neighbors

And flamingos!!!

An extra bonus was a Bentley tour that we crossed paths with several times

Disclaimer: These photos are a collection that my friends took because my camera was stolen on the last day of the trip. :(
