Victoria Island

Everyone recommends going to Victoria Island. You can't see everything in one day. We spent the night, but still only got a taste of the place.

I left at 7am took a bus to the skytrain. Caught two more buses after that to take me to the ferry. After the ferry we took a bus to Victoria. We arrived at 12pm.

This is our ferry.
A different ferry was leaving as we boarded.
The view was pretty neat.
Victoria is completely decorated with carolers on the corners, Mr & Mrs Clause walking the streets, free horse drawn carriages, and garland and trees everywhere.
The Empress Hotel
The hotel had a tree festival.
There were 100 tress in all. You can see the trees on the top of the balcony.
Here is another picture from inside the fancy shmancy hotel.
Another wing of the hotel. Very colonial era.
The museum is next door. This is one of their displays. We weren't allowed to use the flash so it is dark. But even the displays had Christmas decorations.
The Truck parade
There were 80 trucks in all.
After the parade, we hurried to the dock.
The lighted ship parade started shortly after the other.
This was the best!

Here the are before the parade commenced
You can see the Legislative building in the back
Here it is in day light

This is back in Vancouver waiting on a bus to get back home. Apparently there are city rabbits. People feed them, like kids feed ducks at a pond. A lady brought them carrots and apples. They let me get withing a couple of feet of them.
